Middlezoy Aerodrome
Linden House would like to thank all at Middlezoy Aerodrome (especially Paul, Simon, Dave and Dave) for a day of a lifetime for Barry, Richard, Paul and Mrs J. Barry especially was in his element talking "planes"! They made us feel so welcome in their Nissen hut clubhouse, gave us lunch, shared stories, took us on a tour of the planes they have rescued and rebuilt and then treated us to a flypast of 3 of their planes....even arranging a white vapour trail in honour of Barry's long career and love of planes. They even had a plane of the type that Barry took his first flight in the 1930s! Very special. They were so kind and thoughtful and have invited us back next weekend when they have planes dating from World War II flying in to visit. A lovely bunch of really interesting and kind plane-loving men who were so generous with their time. We had a fantastic day!"

The Care Home Excellence Award
We are very excited to inform you all that we have been awarded "The Care Home Excellence Award" for Somerset by the South West Academic Health Science Network (SWAHSN)!
The SWAHSN is one of 15 AHSNs set up by NHS England across the country in 2013 to connect NHS and academic organisations, local authorities, the third sector and industry. AHSNs are uniquely placed to identify and spread health innovation at pace and scale – driving the adoption and spread of innovative ideas and technologies across large populations. Mrs Joyce was invited to speak at their conference recently - to share our experiences of Covid-19 and the state of social care generally. At the end of the conference, they announced that we had won the Excellence Award in recognition of all the hard work that we, as a team, have done recently and to recognise that we stuck our heads above the parapet and bared our souls to the media in an effort to raise awareness of the reality of working in care homes during the pandemic.
Our new drive - with huge thanks to a benefactor wishing to remain anonymous
